My name is Bob from Tucson, Arizona. I own a Dyna Z12. This was a project vehicle I picked up from a friend here in Tucson. I am not sure of the year as there is no title for the vehicle. I think it is a 1958 or 1959.

Is there a way I can tell the year from the VIN?

I am familiar w/ the Panhardis site, but could use some help in the translation (I took French in college, but it's been a long time.

One part I will definitely need is the axle flange going into the differential. The left driveshaft is currently out of the car and is broken off at the flange.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hello, just introducing myself as a new member.

My names Ben and I run a vintage coach building company for a living (unless you ask my wife!) and are heavily involved with French prewar marques, partially voisin, Amilcar and Bugatti. But I have always had a soft spot for 50’s Panhard’s db and other derivatives of the period. Anyway along with my colleague we have recently bought two dyna x’s and by a twist of fate an early aluminium bodied z.

The dyna z, although complete is completely in pieces and we are as yet undecided as to the direction we go with it but, what’s the rush…….

The Dyna x’s however are different beasts altogether. Bought as a joblot, as a punt from eBay with a few spares., one, the early snd complete one turns out to be the ‘49 London and Paris motor show car rhd and with the Early aluminium latticework hubs. This car will be restored, the engine has already been stripped and will soon be going back together. The second car is a later ‘51 and nor complete or in good shape. The plan for this one, to for-fill my want for a aluminium barchetta styled special is going to be realised in the style of the Italian Mille miglia car of I think ‘53? The chassis (which didn’t really exist) has been repaired and modified to take the new body and the running gear has been restored and refitted. Bodywork to commence soon.

If anyone is interested maybe I will start a thread on both the cars??

We also have surplus to requirements one complete aluminium shell with roof but no other panels. If it’s of use to someone you are welcome to it, if no one wants it I will blast it and hang it on the wall as a work of art! But it’s far too good to go to the scrappy!!

We are also in need of some wheels but I will put a a listing on the for sale/wanted section for these and any other parts we don’t need and may be of use to someone else ( I think we have 4/5 empty engine casings!).

Sample thread...

Hi and welcome.

Some sample text can be added here, and etc etc...and you can add styles, by clicking on the icons when you "Post Thread" (create a new topic), or if you want to reply using the "New Reply" button.

You can also add a picture, by going down to the bottom of this window, and selecting "Choose Files" next to New Attachment, and you can highlight text or leave as normal.
Pictures get inserted, once you "Add Attachment", you can click on "Insert Into post", and it will go where the cursor is when you click on this, but beware a poorly sized picture will dominate the webpage, and is very unnecessary. This was a 1.6Mb jpg, and it has blown the page!

 PL17-bretherton_Arms.jpeg (Size: 1.36 MB / Downloads: 25)

You can then add another... but try and think about the file sizes, and the resultant image size, as modern smartphones etc can have very large images, and this is the same one as above, but I cropped it to 640 pixels wide in the picture below, and it's still too big. :o

and there's hardly any difference between the two above, one is around 1.6Mb, the other about 800Kb (about 50% smaller in file size), but I've cropped the image to just 400 pixels wide for the picture below, and finally the webpage is holding up. A little thought when attaching pictures really does make a difference, and still gets the message across, without slowing everything down.
